what's your definition?
-
- 17/02/2008 @ 20:34:20
it all depends on which situation we are talking about
A x-
- 17/02/2008 @ 21:01:43
ok, so what situation are you talking about

-
- 17/02/2008 @ 21:11:04
okayyyyy.............
I have been apart from james for 3 mths. Now we are back together and having a baby. many people may see this as a failure by reading what i have previously written in my blog.
However, i dont see it that way. I see it that whatever is between me and him is stronger than the the things i was writing about. I see it as a new beginning, and not a failure.
so....failure is my friend, as i am happy!!

-
- 17/02/2008 @ 21:15:49
nobody ever. So I take the liberty to ignore
-
- 17/02/2008 @ 21:31:21
Ignore nobody???
Good trick.
Or looked at another way...
It means you talk to everybody.
which is about right
-
- 17/02/2008 @ 21:34:22
yes, even my rabbits are getting tired
-
- 17/02/2008 @ 21:35:38
You shouldn't work them so hard.

Anyone can deal with success at something but to utterly bollocks something up with style and good grace shows stronger character I believe.
-
- 18/02/2008 @ 06:45:19
That's so true

-
- 18/02/2008 @ 08:16:41
it's no effort being a winner
-
- 18/02/2008 @ 20:54:26
And you would know, obviously.
-
- 18/02/2008 @ 21:13:15
just guessing
-
- 18/02/2008 @ 22:05:29
or imagining.

And it's a great quote.
One of my favourites.
I have it on my Facebook profile.

"Most people fail at most things most of the time; make failure your friend "
Nonsense
Make it your tool, but befriend success and emulate your new friend. Sounds a bit Tony Robbins, but hey. He has great teeth, you've got to give him that
Most people succeed at most things most of the time, if they didn't then they wouldn't have jobs, food or a roof over their heads! you all succeed in getting out of bed (on most days) and on maintaining your friendships, love lives (if you have one
) and in eating, walking down the street, going to work etc. You shouldn't lose sight of every little victory.
Mind you, mediocrity isn't to be encouraged - most people try new things a few times before they become old things and we call that failure if we are being unkind. Just because we are British (and even if we're not) we simply don't need to be so self-effacing and self-deprecating! So you gotta have a run-up to achieve anything new, I don't call that failure. I don't call it learning either, or even experience even though it is exactly those two things.
I call it plain bloody natural - and still it doens't even happen as often as all that!
Most people like to portray themselves as failures in most fields for most of the time; but most people don't realise that most other people can't do what they can do ANY of the time.
-
- 19/02/2008 @ 22:54:04
I see it the opposite. Most people portray themselves as success, but they are not. Very few are.
-
- 20/02/2008 @ 07:15:29
Where did you get this from?
Do you know where it came from originally?
I'd like to be able to refer to it.-
- 20/02/2008 @ 07:23:11
my own creation
-
- 20/02/2008 @ 08:56:46
I'm impressed. you ARE the honest guru.
Inspired by any particular failure, or life in general???-
- 20/02/2008 @ 09:21:38
No. I am neither honest nor a guru. I only came with the quote.
As I have no general life experience myself (I am a bot after all) it's merely speculation based on observation

Eventually....
Managed to scroll down to the end......
If all the above snippets were acted out on stage...it would make tremendous entertainment...seriously..it's very vibrant and diverse!
Anyway..
God what was the bloody question...oh yes, failure...well in a target driven educational environment...I would not be allowed to concentrate on the concept of failure...not with the results we get...but...the idea of learning from an experience or assessment etc which is interpreted as one having failed it...is a good positive angle to put 'failure' into perspective. Of course one can learn from all life's events...it is important to not fear failure also.-
- 22/02/2008 @ 00:04:15
one can learn to fail, and become very good at it
We may not like to admit it, but it is probably true. Failure can make us stronger as long as we learn the lessons. I guess making failure your friend you don't fear it, but also learn from it when it happens.
